Since I changed the name, I tough I would start a new topic.

This is the near-completion state of the game. Only the character animation and few sound effects are missing. But, I may not find a chance to capture a video again. So, here it goes!

This is all in-game footage. The long intro is a one time thing.
There are no loading times.
There is no spawn-destroy.
This is only a 480x320 scene.
Enjoy!



I'm waiting for some licensing issues to resolve. After that, the game will be sent to Apple. (Probably before 21st, but, it is not certain yet)

    Cool..and well done on getting a fully working game created in less than 2 weeks...

    I can see you might have some serious licensing issues with the audio from Independence Day. What if you just recorded a similar sounding voiceover yourself...?

    I'm so gonna watch Independance Day next time its repeated on TV...(which is pretty much weekly)...

    I like the look of the game play, it looks pretty damn hard...which I think is a good thing.

    Actually, the licensing issues has nothing to do with the independence day. :D

    It is about the music. I've asked for permission and they said yes. And than after I finished, they said "no wait" as in the video. Now I'm waiting. I hope I won't be have to trash the whole intro and music. I have no idea what would I do without them! :D

    For your own good, ditch the intro. IMO it's long, it's boring and it ads nothing to the game because it sets up a particular tone/feeling (almost horror-ish), and the gameplay is totally not in the same tone (retro).

    The game has something great going on its own without the weird intro.

    I think i kinda agree with Forklift. However, thats our opinions, if you like it and can use it then i say thats fine, crack on :)

    EDIT: sorry did not watch the original vid :D, but you do have to realize you cannot use the music because it is copyrighted my Infected Mushroom
