Hey guys,
Yesterday I bought my macbook, after I started it I directly downloaded Gamesalad. After a bit looking tutorials and doing I made my own project. It is actually not good at all also doesn't got any pictures it is just squares at the moment. And because I just started I did some basic stuff, and I don't know If I'm doing the right and the smart things. So I made a video how my game is and which rules I used. I would love to get some tips from you guys! Just some constructive-critism and tips.
What I got:
Can you guys also say how you guys started out?
+ www.youtube.com/GameSaladCookbook = the best

Edit: Geez were have my manners gone. Welcome to GameSalad, look forward to more of your work.
To start out, I made a game where each level was completely different, so I could try out some basic techniques and learn how to use the software. Now I don't feel at all overwhelmed because of it.

When I first joined, this place was just fields. I've eaten most of those fields now, and this is what you're stuck with!
Fortunately, people are happy to help, and you've already found the vids (we never had those in my day!) so you're off to a good start. I see you've got a hang of the basics already!
What *I* did, was follow the demo examples (the asteroids one mainly I think). This showed me how to use a basic rule, along with behaviours, to move a ship around and fire.
I modified that a bit till I felt a little comfortable. Then I opened up GameSalad and went through each behaviour, one by one, reading what each one is supposed to do in its description.
Then I went through all the behaviours and tried them out in little one or two actor examples!
Then I got chased by penguins. But that's another story altogether. They're like crocodiles really. Just run in a zig zag pattern or something. Another similarity is that neither can fly! Awesome!
Anyway, welcome! Hope you enjoy your stay!

Addicting isn't a word! It's actually ADDICTIVE.
And while I'm here, lose is never, ever, spelled "loose".
What do they teach you in school these days, eh?

That story is half true.

The 'lose' comment was a general one 'while I was here'.
And I'm smoking the usual! Cigarettes! Bad sheepy!

Addicting is a word, BUT ... Not in the context it is usually used by people when it relates to games.
Heres an example:
"I am currenty addicting my friend to heroin, it's a really addictive drug."
You see the difference? Addicting would be the present tense of a verb. Addictive is the adjective that should be used to describe something making you want more and more.
