Acceptable frame rate?

So my game has no sound and no music. The only image I have is an incredibly simple circle for my ball.

The frame rate on my old 3G iPhone is around 12-15.

What is an acceptable frame rate? and, How low will those numbers go when I add music, sound effects, and actual images? (I'm assuming the last answer will be a guess or estimate).

    Well normal you want to be up around 60. I think for 3G 30-45 is acceptable as long as your game doesn't feel laggy. 12-15 is pretty low seems if you only have one actor in the scene somethings got to be wrong to be that low

    That sounds like it would be pretty miserable. You'll probably want to try and stay close to at least 30 fps

    holy cow if you only have one ball actor in the scene, you shoud be above 50 at least. Do you have a ton of constraints or timers in the ball?

    and whats the memory breakdown like

    No, sorry, I meant that the only image that I have is on the ball. I have somewhere around 60 actors per scene (about 50 blocks, a paddle, a ball, display next shot ball, a few texts (score, lives, etc)).

    I'm struggling with how to recycle my actors in this game. I have lots of deleting and spawning action going on.

    After changing everything that doesn't move to Non-Movable and everything thats supposed to be invisible to invisible, the frame rate now hovers around 14-16. Better, but I guess not ideal.

    Has anyone compared what frame rates for a 3G phone look like on a 4G phone? I mean, obviously the 3G is way too slow to hold my game, I need a 4G to really test it out, or just find a way to recycle my actors...

    Yes, TSB, the blocks/bricks do move. That's the problem.

    @JP -

    Uh, yeah, lots of timers and change attributes and everything. Lots of craziness going on.
