Hi, i would like to know how much memory can i use, or were are the iphone 4 limits. This is a screen capture of my game runing on iphone 4 via GS viewer and as you can see, the frame rate is good. Now i would like to know if my memory usage is good as well. The scene is unfinished yet.
tshirtbooth said: on the iphone 4 it can go to 80mb of ram before it crashes so your more then good. that 45mb will change depending on the scene you in.

For example, testing the same project, 35MB total on a 3GS could be 18MB on a 3G and 45MB on an iphone 4.
It's all relative, I guess, as a clever man once said!

EDIT - and to answer your question, the new ipod is basically an iphone 4 without the phone part! So it should have a similar performance!
Doesn't that have to do with resolution independence? On the iPhone 4 you're using the larger images and on the 3GS you're using the lower res images? Would explain the the difference in the memory usage.
something to keep in mind, not everybody will have the newest iphone model. In general people's phone contracts usually last 2 years, so I think its a good measure to make sure your game will work on last years model too. I know 3g to 4g was a huge performance jump.

Actually, no. The resolution independence doesn't kick in (i.e. make smaller copies of your 'big' graphics) until you have a published build. It won't affect Viewer performance (other than make older models run less smoothly as they're using the larger images.
