64x64 Image vs 32x32 Image question

If I have an image that's created as a 64x64 bit image. But I place that image into a 32x32 actor, how does GS recognize that?

Does it count it as a 32x32 or a 64x64? Thanks!

    From what I understand it will count a 64x64 but then GS has to compress it. I would rework the image to make it the size you need it so GS does not have to compress. :)

    From my understanding, with resolution independence on:

    The 64x64 image will will stay 64x64 for the iPhone 4 (even if it's on a 32x32 sized actor) and then for the old phones it will automatically get resized to 32x32, the image that is.
