Frame rate comparison between devices

So my frame rate sucks. It's around a 12-15. But I am using a very old 3G iPhone.

Does anyone know the comparison between the frame rates between devices? Like on an iPhone 4, would that be up around 50? or at like 20?

Good question. My game was running so poorly on my 3G last year I abandoned it. However so far everything runs at right around 60 FPS on my iPad as of course it has a totally different chip. Later today I'll try the good ol' Project Resizer to see how my work in progress runs it on the iPhone 4. I'm expecting good results though.

Maybe I'll make my game for the iPad. See how things do and then resize down for the iPhone...

I still really want to tweak things to get the frame rate better...

Anyone else know an answer to my question? (Thanks Mike)

The only way to know for sure is to test the game on the device. Since it sounds like you don't have a newer ipod or iphone I'm sure there would be some trustworthy members here who would check it for you if you made an adhoc version or even just sent the project file.

I'm working on a game with around 20 moving actors on screen at the same time and a big background picture as well. On my ipod touch 4 I get a frame rate of around 60 fps and an occational dip to 55-56. On my ipod touch generation 1 the frame rate is all over the place - mostly around 30-40 frames per second but down to 25 when a lot of stuff is happening.
