I'm at a crossroads here...

I have an idea for a game (which I think is a fantastic idea), however, it requires a LOT of spawning actors, destroying actors and moving actors on the scene at one time (like 60+!).
I've tried just about everything (recycling actors, changing my game, etc) to fix the frame rate problems. I'm still at around 18 at best on my old 3G phone.
I'm about to give up because I don't see GS being able to support my idea...
I'm not sure what else to do. Is there any hope for my game idea? Should I just give up and make it for the iPad and hope that it turns out okay? (I don't even own an iPad so I can't even test it).

I'd say you add a few more surgeries on to your schedule and get an iphone4!
I would really like to buy a new phone soon. However, 200k+ in student loans make that difficult to do as a young doctor. Once I start seeing some serious volume of patients then i can afford to blow $400 on the 4G. But, probably by that time there'll be a 6G or 10G or something crazy.
this is the something ive been workign on. Different kind of game, but im sure my actors act like your bubbles should. Theres over 100 of them in my scene, and i was able to do it with 0 spawning and destroying. As soon as i get it submitted, ill send you a template if you want.
Figured it might help you out
@ Dr i have something else im workin on first but im hoping for next week sometime. Ill let u know asap
If I can help in anyway ... I have a 2g Ipod Touch, 3gS and iPhone4 in the family to test on. Have you looked at http://testflightapp.com/ perhaps to create a little test group to test your app?

I'm going to go ahead and make my game and whatever happens with the frame rate will happen with it. Maybe I'll try and send it over to someone before it's published to "optimize" it or something...
