OPEN TOPIC- Corona vs. GameSalad

This is an open community so I believe that we should be allowed to constructively criticize GameSalad. Which is why I made this topic. Here, you can openly discuss Corona without being criticized, and you can also discuss GameSalad without being criticized... I don't hope for a giant flame battle, just an open discussion... Most of you probably already know my ideas on this topic, so I shall not post, just read.

Gamesalad vs. Corona has a clear winner.

I started to make a game with Corona and I bought Lime and SpriteDeck (both are some kind of GUI for Corona), but I quickly decided not to use them, because they were complicating things for me (although they can make development easier) and I wanted to learn Corona in its native state.
I learned very fast and I was able to make the basic design for my game very quick.
Of course "very quick" means that I was able to accomplish the game to a certain state in about one week, what I could have accomplish in GS in one day.
Even if GS would have taken me quicker to my goal, I prefferred Corona, simply because I believe, it is the better tool with the better support.
If you are just a little bit interested in programming and you have a common understanding of programming logic, then you definately should try Corona.
For being fair: working with GS for months helped me to understand LUA and object iriented programming extremely. I was able to imagine easier in code, what will happen on the screen, just because I learned how GS is working.
My project goes on very well, although a friend of mine was so motivated when I asked him for a little help, that he took over the project and has rewritten the whole code, so it is so complex now, that I barely understand a word of it :-P
Anyway... LUA is a really simple language for simple things (like GS, you use if-else commands very often in LUA too), but you can use it for very complex things as well.
I will keep making games rather in Corona from now on.
Sorry GS.
Without being able to remove the splash screen even for 500 dollars (Corona costs 350) and with the heavy engine and no communication and all the other things, you know yourself, I don't want to be part of it.
I still watch the forums and maybe I will post some times, because I like the community here and I will keep an I on GS, maybe a miracle happens, but I won't use the tool for active development anymore.
I come to this forum to find out about Game Salad, which is a tool that requires no coding. Why are you annoying us with topics about Corona, a tool that requires coding. If you want to hard code your games go ahead and use Corona and leave us alone.
At this stage I am not willing to put in the time and steep learning curve to learn Corona, as I am sure, most other people in THIS forum.
I am very happy with GameSalad. It handles every requirement I have had so far and you can create great games with it extremely quickly. The support on this forum is excellent. And it's free. I look forward to the next upgrades - if they have managed to make as good a tool as this I can only expect even better things in future.
I hope the forum administrators will take action to remove these comparison threads so that we do not have to waste our time on them again.
It's a little like Photoshop and illustrator which ease the task at hand!
Corona, I hope, will never get a GUI because that would quickly ruin it's reputation which is hard to rebuild once it's gone!
We all use multiple graphics apps so don't see why using various sdks is any different?
and sparkzilla, I didnt and dont intend to be offensive. So please do not take any of this in the wrong way. I am simply pointing this out. thanks

anyway, if i could code: Corona
if i couldnt code (i cant): GS
the end.
If this topic comes up so often, then something is wrong with GS, not with the users.
Guess, how many GS vs Corona topics are on the Corona forum... right! NONE.
So instead of trying to kill everything related to Corona, what about making a better tool with better support, so people can just smile, when somebody says "corona" (like Corona people smile, when somebody says "gamesalad")?
I come from an ex communistic country, and guess who tried to keep the idea alive the same ways?
u know quantumsheep... for being a mod, you're a bit of a smart ass and i always catch you acting like a child.... i'm just saying.....
