I designed about 12 images and merged them together as one image, following each other....the whole picture is 2.8 MB....how can I make the background change with the actor movement??? I am totally new to this...and also how can I place the enemies in different parts of the image? Also gamesalad tells me the image is too big too handle?? Resolution is 11099 by 640...as all the images are in one image

This is not a GS issue. The iPhone can only handle images smaller than 1024x1024 at a res of 72.

You will need to chop up you background image into separate images. Then put these images in their own instance.

OK, but why when I insert an image it appears smudged and not clear?? Seems distorted and it has a 960 x 640 resolution

well... go back to your 12 individual images... import them (72dpi resolution; size < 1024 x 1024)

change Inspector>>Scene... and change scene size to your 11099
    then add images
add Behavior controlCamera on your moving actor...

or scroll background images... coordinated with that actor

lots of Demoes accessible via your GS application New ( + ) just type something like scroll in the Filter area.

@jeancrast... you are mixing up the terms... Size is the Width, Height... Resolution is the degree of detail (dots per inch...pixels per inch.)

open your graphic program and change the Resolution on the images...
or open in your Preview Application and click Tools>> Adjust Size... and change there.
