creating a .ipa and/or ad hoc build

If I want to put my app onto testflightapp.com I need a .ipa, so how do I make my gamesalad project into this?

Also what is an ad hoc build and what's the purpose of it?

Simply publishing with gamesalad produces an ipa. Do check the license agreement with apple to your dev account when it comes to distributing final ipa files though.

Create a new app ID for your game. You need to create a new distribution (not development) provisioning profile in the iOS Provisioning Portal. Make sure you select Ad Hoc and NOT appstore. Select your app ID you want to associate with the provisioning profile and the device you have set up. Make sure you name it clearly so you don't get confused later. Something like "appname AD HOC" (at least thats what I do). Then download it, double click on it and it should load into xcode. Then publish your game with game salad and on the page where it asks which provisioning profile you want to use select "appname AD HOC" and publish it as normal.

Hey there. I just ditched my nose into gamesalad (finally had some time). Now that I got the first setup together I would really like to see it on the actual device, so I registered here and over at Apples Dev site. When I click on "Get Provision Profile" in publishing dialog I get an "Access denied -- You do not have access to the page you requested" from Apple. Do I have to pay or signup more things in oder to get it to work?

you have to actually pay for an iOS developers license with Apple. then wait for them to approve your license before you can access any of that.
