Hey everyone
Today I want to show you guys my new template. I've been working on perfecting this thing for about three weeks. Basically the inspiration came while DreamLab and I where working on a game and he said, "you know what would be cool? Stacks." We all have macs right? Stacks is something most of us probably experience daily with our macs but I haven't really seen anything like it in a game. I personally love it on my mac. So I went to work and here's what came out.

GS Stacks Level Select.


80 levels broke into 4 worlds of 20 (all easily customizable) all on one screen in a beautiful smooth interface. Easily reduce the total level number, or even the amount of levels within each world. Also it can easily be changed a 1-80 number system as opposed to 1-20 for each world. that all just art. the isons are setup so that each instance will not have to be unlocked until you are ready to chose what scene you want the icon to go to. all other changes are done with attributes. making this very user friendly.

You say whats the catch? I say, well it sucks on 3G. Not completely, lol. It Works but is not as beautiful and smooth. The number of actors is just too much for the older device to display the icons movements smoothly. all of the level select and lock/unlocks work. So please just keep that in mind when you consider the purchase. it seems to get around 40-45fps on 3G
You can see in this video how the menu functions on the 3g. it works just not nice an smooth like the iphone 4


Now enough of the bad.

This runs around 50-60fps on 3rd and 4th gen devices

This template is very user friendly. Simply change out artwork with same named art. The rules are designed to to call for image files based on attribute settings so simply replacing images with the same name will easily integrate your art into this template. This template does come with a nice full set of art designed and created by DreamLab and that art is yours to use how you like once you have purchased the template.

I hope you enjoy this and put it to good use. I can see many other potential ways of adapting this for other menu types

    I have used this and it works great. honestly. 40$ for this is cheap. to get something like that that smooth is hard. I LOVE THIS. so many ways you can use it. and no tenrdrmer did not tell me to write this. I just think he deserves the credit. very nice template.

    I am telling you guys, this really is a good template. well worth it IMO. I am not just saying that because I worked with him. It is really smooth and VERY easy to customize. He is very nice to work with for updates and included features in the next updates. He has worked well hard on this and plans to keep it running. Very nice template, and I am already using it.

    Hey everyone,

    Heres the portrait version of the "Stacks Level Selection Template". I personally like the feel of this one more than the landscape. I'll also be adding a version to the landscape template showing all of the world icons at the bottom like a dock.

    This took very little time to modify to portrait. It's really very user friendly and should add a nice touch to any game's menu system.

    Very well done guys! I love how clean the layout is in portrait mode. I'll certainly keep this in mind for an app I've got swirling around in the back of my mind. Keep up the great work!

    Thanks dazzleme. I actually very much agree with you thats why I went and did a landscape version with the world icons all at the bottom like a dock. Heres a video of that. This will now be included with the rest of the versions.

    StackLevelSelect Purchases now include an iPad Landscape Version. If anyone is hanging their purchase on wanting a portrait version let me know and I can work up one of those as well. heres the iPad video.
    Basically looks the same as the others



    So to recap for $20.00 you will receive both iPhone landscape Layouts, an iPhone Portrait Layout, and now an iPad Landscape Layout. These all work great and are easy to customize to different configurations other than the ones provided.

    I bought this "Stack Level" template and wasn't sure it could be easily implemented into the already advanced state of my game's development.
    But with tenrdrmer's instructions and his fantastic hand's on project merger help the menu system works perfectly. He also supplied me with some descriptive images showing exactly what to change. This template should be excelent for those of you that have games with many small levels.

    Big Thanks to tenrdrmer! I also bought the stack level template and it's great. The best part is the support he gives. I thought I had it implemented fine but must have changed something inadvertently, and he was able to diagnose and fix it in no time.
