Quick opinion question.... should i get a new macbook pro or an imac? I am guessing that the imac line will get an update soon but it's hard to be patient!

I currently have a macbook pro (last years model) but it's a family computer and I would like one just for my website and video games.

Thanks for your responses.

Get the IMAC it is the best thing that ever happened to me. PERSONALLY I think that the macbook pro is too small and the bigger screened ones were out of my price range. the imac is more power, more real-estate, and I love it.

I'd say iMac especially if you already have a macbook pro. About the only thing I wish outta my macbook pro is nice massive display.

The iMac is certainly powerful, and has a wonderfully large screen, but it is *not* more powerful than the new MacBook Pros - at least not the higher-end models. I read that the new MacBook Pros are faster than the last generation Mac Pros!

iMacs have usually been refreshed later in the year.

If you can swing it, the best solution is a MB Pro with a second 27" display. That way you have the power, portability, and screen real estate. If that's too high a price tag and you don't need the portability, I'd go with the iMac. It *is* powerful, and the storage and screen space are fantastic. You can never have too much screen space!

Wow lots of imac love here...

I'd say Macbook pro, the 15" version....portability wins out...its got thunderbolt so its future proof...

But then again...the mac book airs look cool too...

iMac's going to update in probably 2-3 months so if you feel like having portability go for macbook pro if not the iMac line right now is still right now really good unless you want thunderbolt :)

I am using a MacMini. Works great.
Consider getting a lot of RAM.
GS eats it up. Its more important then anything else.

Why don't you buy an iPad?
That would free up the laptop ... trust me :)
