I would recommend trying to get pre release reviews and not paying for ads I havent seen anyone yet say paying for an ad helped.

A lot of review site have a way to submit info asking for one you will just have to search. Most will give some crap about how they have forwarded your game on to the powers that be but then offer you advertising options or tell you how paying $100-150 will guarantee a review. Again I wouldn't spend money on any of that. if it is that good they will want to get as much exclusive info as they can first. so make a nice youtube video or trailer and make sure its unlisted cause if they want exclusive you need to be able to limit and shut down anyone else that has the link. also you will know if they are getting serious cause some will actually ask for an ad hoc build and send you a UDID. My next app I plan to do a lot more pre release marketing than ever before. If you can get even one big web site behind you it can help your game a ton.

man there are alooot of sites but i ont know which ones are really good...if u could tellm e which ones u use and if they have helped with ur sales that wud be great

HAHA none have helped my sales so far. My games have not be good enough to their standards I guess. I got a review on portablegamer.com and it was a decent review but still no real boost in sales. I'd say look at the site visitor numbers.

Or just email all of them asking if they want to do a review. You can also get your app approved and set the release date out a ways and you can still get working promo codes that way and they can still download them. just make sure if that is your plan you go back to itunes connect after the app goes from wait for review to in review and reset the release date otherwise when its approved it will drop on the store any way.

Marketing is a lot of work and there is no right way or best way to attack it. Just give it your all and hope for the best.

It's a good idea to advertise.

Unless your target audience is hipsters, that is.
