Scoring Debate

The way my game is set up in terms of levels and scoring...think Angry Birds, Fragger, etc.

The difference is, once you pass one of my levels, you cannot go back and get 2 or 3 stars. Once you finish, you're done and you move on to the next level. there are 30 levels total. At the end of the 30 levels, you are given a "name" based on your overall performance.

I am now second guessing and making it so you can go back and earn more stars for redoing a level. Someone reminded me that with iphone games, people want instant gratification, NOT "classic" arcade style where you compete for a high score over 30 levels.

Is there a strong argument for either? Would people get frustrated playing 30 levels before they can play the other levels again? Any suggestions or ideas?

Ladies and gentlemen, feel free to chime in and let your opinions on this be heard. Thanks!

Personally, I think that one great quality of a great game is the ability to improve your score. That is one of the ways a game becomes addictive. People are always gonna try to beat there last score. If you limit the user to only being able to improve there score after playing the full 30 levels, they might get irritated with the game. Besides, the longer it takes them to get the score they want, the longer it takes them to finish the game, and the less likely you are to get reviews saying "Waste of money...I finished this game in half an hour...DON'T BUY". Well there's my two cents. Hope that helps :)
