Today I watched a video about GS Picture Wave - it's a pretty cool tool. I'm wondering about the purchase, but I'm also wondering how can I use this tool in my projects? Did you guys use it? Could you give me a few examples how it can be used?

Thanks!

Hey TheMoonwalls, ya I saw the video as well, and it looks like a really interesting tool. I haven't bought it due to the fact I don't think I would use it in my games. The only example I can think of that this would come in really handy is if you wanted to make an effect where you drag your finger throughout some water, as shown in the app Fluid (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fluid/id312575632?mt=8) Hope that answers your question.

I guess you could alter it to do the wave effect from a moving actor as opposed to a touch x/y.

You could then use it for some cool kind of special effects

How about a game where you control a boat, and you could use the effect (with small enough image sections) to make a wake in the water background image.

Or in a space thing, it could be used to have a kind of warping effect on the background (a-la geometry wars)

    or...

You could trigger the effect with a number of actors....so for example, make an explosion of actors, that "deform" a background image

or you could use it to make some kind of cool transition effect from one scene to another kind of
