I do live in Calgary but i've been thinking about moving to Vancouver. Vancouver seems to have a more affordable housing market and the weather is waaaaaay nicer. I just wanted to know if anyone else is in the area.

lol not really that much affordable. Do a quick search on the mls and compare places. I left both places cause I was at a stage in my life where I wanted a house and couldn't afford in either.
"The Orange Tree" was a night club on "Electric Avenue". In the early 90's, I was a pianist in Calgary and accompanied a Jazz vocalist ... she frequently performed at The Orange Tree and the Inn on the Lace Bonavista ... yikes, that was alomst 20 years ago! LOL

@xyloFUN - Ah ok. Yeah I only spent 6 months living there, didn't last long as I really didn't like the culture, weather..well most things. Everyone was wealthy, conservative and cowboys :P
@backupandown - read ^ I'm back in my hometown Halifax, spent half my life on both coasts.
It blows my mind that game salad has a non existing presence in Vancouver!!
On one hand, I can understand it because the city has a lot of professionals working in the film and game industry but still, you would assume that tons of students or hobbyists would have picked it up by now!
I used to attend Flash user groups and various 3D related meetings and if you weren't there a few minutes prior to the event starting, you had to stand!
Ether way ... strange. Then again, a good potential to get it going for someone interested in leading a group.

Ah, I see. It looks like the house prices in Halifax are extremely reasonable. Any Canadian Gs'ers want to join together, create a company and purchase an awesome H.Q.? =P

Every time I release a game, I fly the GS flag for two days.
