animating actor not animating

Hi all,

I have a situation where, when launched an actor spawns another actor (it's a cartoon time bomb with a fuse, when the bomb is dropped the fuse should start to burn). Unfortunately, when the animating actor is spawned, it only displays the first image.

In order to check the actor was indeed animating, I dragged it onto the stage and tried it like that. Again it didn't work, so I moved it down the scene stack (sorry if this is the wrong terminology - the layers pertaining to the scene). It then worked perfectly. Unfortunately I can't move the animating actor down the stack because it isn't there (it hasn't been spawned yet).

any advice gratefully received.

    is your spawner in the display area (black) in the scene?

    if it is in the grey area, you could delete and drag in your animating actor to scene and make it the spawner... then you can change it's position in the layer/ or the layers position...and have all your spawn rules/triggers on it.

    several ways may help to get your effect... just having the animating actor in the grey area of scene... may enable you to get it...

    keep trying... you have already learned things and helped others with the repositioning of layers attempts... ;)

    many thanks MH, putting it into the grey area allowed me to rearrange the layer order until it worked.

    I'm only just getting started with the dopey questions, so if my getting things wrong helps people, you're in for a treat!!!
