What's a Splash Screen?

People have been talking about it around here in the forum but I still havent understood what it is. I know it comes with the pro package. Can anyone indicate me to a game with a splash screen?

    Some people also load there own splash screen in after this to show their company name etc

    Actually you don't get a splash screen with Pro now, I don't think - it might have changed but last I heard you still had to keep the GameSalad one.

    As others said the splash is like showing a screen with your logo before the game starts, or the like.

    a splash screen displays on screen while 1st scene loading is happening...
    it is static... that is the user can not do anything while it displays...

    it is a good idea to include your own splashScreen as your 1st scene... cause that will decrease load time (1st scene content will be minimal) and the computer continues process loading of game assets...just don't have it show for too long...
