Create your character actor, then have a game attribute called WhatCharacter.
On your character select, when each option is picked have it change the above attribute to its own number.
Then, a rule on your character, when WhatCharacter = 1, change image to ....
Otherwise
If WhatCharacter = 2, change image to ....
