Hey all,

I've recently gained access to the adobe tools for a short time.

I'm guessing they all have their advantages.

I used to use Flash a lot.

What are the advantages with each program and how could they benifit me with GameSalad?

Thanks everyone!

    advantages

Photoshop- more for textures, realisticISH looking graphics like "secret of grisly manor" and also for photo editing.

Flash- Great vector graphics program and GREAT to use for animation (using the bone tool and keyframing)

Illustrator- Probably the best vector art program out there. I use it every day and love it. Illustrator is more for cartoony looking graphics.

so photoshop- photorealism and YOU CAN still do cartoony art with it

flash- great for vector and animation

illustrator- the program I would recommend the most

    hope this helped

    Thanks DL.

I use to use Flash for fun to make animations, but i've been playing with Illustrator a lot, seems to be just like it minus the animations really.

I just wanna get good at making 2D Graphics, no idea how people come up with the designs they have though... YET

but looks like i'm on the right track, thanks mate!

FLASH is AMAZING. its like having illustrators and an animation app in one. keyframe/tweening then exporting to png sequence. man its awesome.

So other then Animations is that really the only main difference?

(I do agree with it be awesome, I use to use it for Tracing)

Illustrator is a lot better at vector artwork than flash is. but flash does BOTH and its less work if you were wanting to import everything to flash to animate it, to just do it in flash.

So annimations aside, I should still use Flash?

Kind of a bated question you posted... to media professionals, Illustrator is what we use to create the layout and text for printed media, Photoshop is what we use to edit any images that we would use in Illustrator, and Flash is the tool that makes flashy website functionality. Get it? Flashy? ...ok that was bad.

If you are used to illustrator, drawing with flash is painful. It lacks a lot of instruments and useful tools.

depends on the graphic style you are going for, but photoshop is great for pixel art ala http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/new_icons.asp though there are plenty of great free pixel editors out there! graphics gale for windows machines, pixen for mac :)

I use flash to draw cartoon, illustrator is so burocratic sometimes.

QUESTION, I've never used any of these programs. Today I got the complete CS5 package.
So I have a lot to learn. My fiance showed me the game app cute the rope.
The little green monster in the game. Would y'all say he would be created/animated in Flash? Also to clairify, aninmated means that how you see the monster chew the ball up and blink etc...????

Sure you can do that on flash

Thanks everyone, I use to use Flash all the time for cool stuff, but now i'm trying to get a hold of Illustrator.

Super: Any image that has any kind of movement no matter how suttle if the original image is change in some way that is call an "Animation"
