On-Screen Controls Help

Hello everyone,

I am working on a game with controls exactly like the the ones found in the "Space Rocks Template". I created on screen controls in the form of actors to take place of the keyboard controls. I have tried to follow the instructions found in the video series below...

...but nothing happens when my controls are pressed. What am I doing wrong? I followed the directions to the T. Any ideas on how I can make this work?
