maximum file size for background?

I have a background that is 1.3mb and when I put it in gamesalad it makes it INCREDIBLY blurry!

make sure your background is centered on 512x384 exactly if it's in a .5 it can cause blurryness, also make sure it is EXACTLY 72dpi, 72.1 is wrong.

also, if the actor itself is not exactly 1024x768, that will also make it blurry.

but to answer your question, the largest image that the iPhone can handle is 1024x1024 at 72dpi
