.caf or .aif support?

Whenever I went to add a couple audio files into the audio pane It wouldn't allow me to add anything there which I also tried .mp3 and .m4a files. I assume this is also why the Play sound action wouldn't allow me to access the drop down list of audio since there wasn't any imported into the project.
