Mynameisace vs. TOtB 2

Hey Guys,

This thread is going to be a video blog of 2 things really; firstly (as you can probably tell by the title) is my progress from start to finish on my 'Think Outside the Box' game which will be starting tomorrow.

Secondly; I purchased a MacBook Air 13 inch off the Apple Store yesterday and received it today. This machine is purely for development on the go so I want to put it through it's paces and test if it could be used to create a full game and all of it's assets.

Here is the screenshot of my desktop:

My first video will be coming tomorrow once the theme for the competition is announced (Stormy... It better be good haha) and I have some ideas and concepts thrown up.

    nice Ace ... congrats on the new MacBook ... your tools are all ready!

    I'm also eagerly awaiting the theme so if should be fun (and hopefully productive)!

    Jeez! Ace! wish I was that focused!

    only thing I would suggest to you is SideNote

    it is free... and keep it off-screen to the R...move your mouse there and it will slide on screen for you ...write notes/reminders/2 do etc. real fast as it auto-saves... and type/copy-paste/or drag to it...

    ah...go try it... you know Mother isn't gonna give you bad advice.

    this contest is gonna be a real challenge to me... and here I am trying to make it easier for you! ;D

    Nice ace! I am running GS on an old MBA. It's worked well for me, though my next Mac will be a MacBook pro. The hinge on mine is broken. :/ good luck with the competition! And congratz on the new Mac!

    nice parallax background image..

    but even more awesome 'cloud' placeholder image in the video...

    I do all my GameSalad stuff on my 13" Macbook (non Pro), and it is all possible. You just get very good at zooming in and out in illustrator/photoshop... :-)

    Haha MotherHoose, there is room to share, especially on a character that is THAT cool!

    Coming along nicely now, got some power-up's in place that are working pretty well and vibed the controls so they are a different mechanism and streamlined the code.

    New test build of my latest progress is on the link above...

    I've added a transition, instant reset, power-up, power-down, duck (when character is big) and crawl (hold the down key & a direction).

    There are still a load of things that need improving for the mechanics, not everything is instant reset quite yet too.

    ... love the alien... and though I'm not to swift with arrow controls... I did that build perfectly!

    ... think Ace is going to send me a game update everyday... so I will play and not do my project!

    I'm going to have to pull out of this contest unfortunately... I'm way too busy finishing Ants and Marketing and other projects.

    If anyone wants me to send them the project I had, send me an email and I'll send it to you with all the artwork/etc.
