how do i make cool text?

is there a program you can use to generate that cool looking text, you know the multiple colors, outlines, 3d effect, shadowing, that kind of stuff?

    TSB has a nice illustrator tutorial on his you tube. Also I do believe there is some stand alone programs that do that.

    it is worth more than its price!... I use it more than I use PS or Pixelmator! though not as much as I use Gimp.

    I use www.flamingtext.com for most of my logos and graphics. I use to use cooltext.com, but they don't have quite the selection flamingtext.com has. They also do web-style buttons as well. Best of all, its totally FREE!

    Was about to post cooltext.com myself but found this thread in search. Flamingtext looks cool but the one thing I can say about cooltext is that you can save the png background transparent which flamingtext gives an option for but when I saved it it wasn't. (which is prob a fault of mine rather than the website)
