looking for a simple art program that works well with GS

my pc died and it had photoshop and a animation program now i just have my new mac but im HORRIBLE with gimp...the need the double click on tools and hard to find simple items drives me crazy so i thought i would be good with something simple like the free for mac program paintbrush which is identical to ms paint but it cant save the invisible background pngs so now i would like to find something in between something that will give me the easy speed and simplicity i need of a ms paint program but the ability to save a translucent background...if you know of anything that might help i would appreciate it, thanks.

Pixen, http://opensword.org/pixen/r3b1.php it's amazingly good - simple and effective!

alternatively try Paintbrush http://paintbrush.sourceforge.net/ (mac) another good one, but making things transparent is more complex than it should be.

edit: forgot to mention, both of these are free.

Love it, live it, breath it. Has everything almost - missing a couple features CS5 has, but it's very easy to use and isn't stressful. highly reccomend.

Inkscape is another fantastic program and its free as well. It's more like illustrator

+1 for Inkscape (Open source, which means it's FREE, plus there a lots of tutorials online). It's also cross-platform.
