Going to make a platform game for the ToTB2 comp.

What is the maximum width for a scene / actor?

Thanks!

    Thanks Tshirt,

That's awesome, can that effect the game being that big?

So if I want I can have like 20 Actors for the bottom base at 1000 pixels wide?

The scene size wont effect the performance, the ammount of actors will though just keep that in mind.

    Thanks John your the Bomb!

I just worked it out that about two screen lengths of the iPhone is about 1000 pixels wide,
How do people get away with making a platformer, they make about 20 actors for the ground?

if your scene is gonna be 1000 you only need one actor, just make its width 1000

    dont go over 1024 though

    cheers

    Do you have Skype man?

What I mean is, I want to have a large Mario sized level, So that means I pretty much have to make heaps of pics for the backdrop etc and put them together like a puzzel?

Theres no need to actually seperate all the images into actors. Just combine them into one image and just use the invisible actor to do the tricks. I rather have a 1 - 200KB+ (748x1024) image + some invisible blank actors than have 1BG + 10Blocks + several floors + colidable objects on the scene.

    I think i get you.

like I want my snow scene, and I know I just put invisible actors to walk on.

Do I just make the Character really small and zoom right in with the camera or something?

Man I know i'm missing something that'll make me feel Dumb.
