Did anyone here made money with a game made by GameSalad?

Hello guys,

I am new here and I just started using Gamesalad a week ago and it's seem too good to be true. I am super excited and I started doing my first game. But there is this voice in my head that keeps bugging me by saying, this is too easy, it can't be true.

Did anyone really make money with this?

I was able to quit my day job from the games I made with GameSalad. Anything is possible!

    Good luck!

    Really!!

This is my dream. I really wish I can do that. How many games did you have to make until you succeeded? did it take you long. Sorry I over excited now.

Thanks in advance Sous Chef :)

Congrats on living your dream Firemaple. You are an inspiration to us all.

I've released my first App to the App store recently and sales have been slow for me thus far.

That said, I've had a blast doing it and I'm already thinking of ways I can improve my next App.

If you truly enjoy making games than I say keep going down the Game Salad path. You'll have a ton of fun and each App you release will have a chance to strike it big. But to be perfectly honest, it's not a get rich quick scheme.

Best of luck with your development!

    Thank you All,

I enjoy this very much and I wish I can make someone money so I can quit my job and focus on doing this because I enjoy it a lot. I already have a number of ideas in my head and I am going to try them all.

    CsLover,

Do you have a day job or are you just focusing on the GS?

    Hi :),

I have almost 100 apps made with gamesalad and the rest xcode. If your looking to make money quick this is the place to do it.

    WELCOME TO GAMESALAD :)

Gotta admit I can't stand that approach. It is possible to make a lot of money but unless if your app is great and you get (in most cases) a lot of luck then it's less than likely to make you very much anytime soon.

Firemaple... rocked the app store with his awesome game 'the secrets of Grisly Manor'... plus about 3 other great games...

There are certainly a handful of very successful developer using GS...

I'm not yet one, but I am still slowly working on it... currently getting about $200 ish a month from a game I made last Summer.. (Quake Builder)... It's by no means at all perfect, but I learnt a tonne making it.

    I agree with you guys,

I think both ways may work.

    A. Making a lot of apps and waiting for one to be a hit

    B. Focus on few that have great ideas, graphics, sounds, and playability and with luck you may make it.

Since I am new, I will try the second approach first.

We can all agree that it's an exciting field to be a part of.

GameSalad really is an incredible tool as it has effectively reduced the barriers to entry for a start-up developer to reach millions of customers down to zero.

We literally have the same access to a massive customer base as EA, Capcom, GameLoft, etc.

I would recommend pursuing a smaller amount of polished games as opposed to a large number of rushed games. That said, I am still new to this myself.

    Enjoy the ride!

Mmm hmm..the amount of shovelware on the appstore pisses me off; It make it that much harder for Developers who give a !@#$%, whom want to make quality games, to get their game noticed.

Look at the "Success stories" tab. My game, Capsule, is going to be sent into the app store soon!

Exactly Why GameSalad needs to not be free.
