I know how to make images and save them as PNGs. What program do you use to line them up and import them into GS as a animation. A animated gif is one file and animates when plays. What program are you using to merge all the pngs into 1 file? Or are you Making the list og pngs numerical or alphabetical and just clicking and dragging multiple pngs into Gs and GS makes it a animation. If you are using software to do it. Can you point toward your favorite to use. If its just as simple as importing images to GS. can you point me in the direction of a video explaining how to do it?

I don't do many of my own animations (usually have my graphic designer do it for me) but when I need an animation done, I use ToonBoom Studio for Windows. It can do everything from simple basic animations to complex stuff as well. However, the program itself runs around $400, so its not a cheap purchase, but it is a GREAT tool. However, it exports to a .mov, but I use Format Factory (free download) to convert it to an animated GIF. Hope that helps.

Does Flash export your animation as a PNG animation? True color and correct dpi for GS?

Animation in GameSalad is a series of images. There is an animate behavior that you drag and drop your images in, and GameSalad animates it for you. You can re-arrange their order and all that.

    This is what I use.

    illustrator- 90%
    Photoshop- 8%
    flash- 2&

Flash is very good. But I have been using illustrator for so long that flash seems totally native to me. I hate it. but thats because I am used to illustrator. if you are looking for simple cartoon graphics, and some easy animations, go with flash.

if you like realistic graphics or more realistic than really cartoony, go with photoshop.

if you like a bit more better cartoony vector graphics and LOVE the great adobe tools, go with illustrator. So many tools to use, and its so easy to make cool graphics for your game.

its all up to you. if you are broke, go with gimp, inkscape, or buy pixelmator. Animations are just a series of slightly different images. so you dont NEED flash to do them. you can just slightly move them in illustrator and save as a new copy and there you have another frame.

    up to you dude.

    I recommend those though
