Can u use a timer in a rule?

Whenever i use a timer in a rule in never does what i tell it to do when the timer ends. Can you not use timers in rules?

ive tried it both checked and unchecked, Which should it be on?

checked although for an every timer i use it unchecked otherwise it doesnt stop...now are your parameters right?!

Oh nvm i made a mistake in some other part,it looked like the attribute didnt change after a second, so i put a display attribute up to test this and sure enough it went up in a second.
