Another Staggering Issue :GRRRRRR

Im working on my new game for the iphone. I have been working on over the past couple days and it was working fine. When I opened the file this evening everything on screen seems to have a slightly staggered movement. I don't know whats happened over night but it seems to effect every actor scrolling. Everything is 100% recycled and I have made sure that all artwork is within the sensible 8 16 32 64 128 256 and 512 sizes. It lags in the GS viewer (ipod touch 2G, the lowest frame rate is 49 fps and I have 17 moving actors most of which are 24x24 in size.) and preview on my iMac. What's even stranger is even when I now delete almost everything from the scene, even the remaining few actors are staggering with they're movement. That didn't happen in the earlier development stages.
Incidentally there seems to be no staggering at all with the web preview, however I'm guessing that the GS viewer is the most accurate for testing on a device.
Everything seemed so smooth before Anyone have any idea what could have happened?
Anyone fancy testing out the game on an equal or more powerful device if I send them the project file.
