I compared traffic to Ansca Mobile and GameSalad...

GameSalad is catching up. It would probably be in the lead if not for the Bubble Ball spike. I think that's why GameSalad should offer a bounty... something like a $10,000 reward or lifetime Pro Subscription to the first GameSalad game that goes #1 in Paid, Free or Grossing in the iTunes App Store.

When other developers learned about Bubble Ball, they learned about Corona. To get the community growing, it needs a hit game... a #1 game.

Yep exactly. But not only make the best game. Go on national news and plug GameSalad once you get there.

Oh and anyone wanting to literally make bubble can start from my nice bubble ball template. Sorry couldn't resist the obvious plug. :)

well I guess the game should be endless comparing with what happened with tiny wings. And easy to pick-up and play, And quick to pick-up and play.
That's my winning combination so far.

That statement seems incorrect, as I have lots of great ideas. Heh, getting those great ideas done is another story.

If BOT fails to hit #1, I have another plan. :)

    I'm certainly trying :)

Heh, I don't have to be the next Angry Birds or Tiny Wings... Even the next Fruit Ninja or Cut The Rope is enough to retire comfortably.

Regardless of the goals for my project, shouldn't GameSalad be encouraging people to built excellent games? I think that's the best form of marketing for GameSalad.

Personally, and I think this is anyones choice too, I think there should be more teaming up. Of course, there are great developers that do very well on their own. but the more you have in a group, the more apps, and the better quality(not always). Just my opinion.

because most people who do their own app by themselves cut corners to get it out there. They will say, ok I have solid art, I will just not spend as much time on gameplay so I can submit it. or buy a template and just replace art.

So I think there should be more teaming up ya know. working as groups. Sure, the profit splits arent as great, but more apps, and the chance of more success (IMO) would make up for it(IMO). haha.

    That could be a solution... a super-team.

I'm going to think about this. I think I have a great idea for a team project.

Hey photics what would be your team idea that you are talking about.

It would likely conflict and/or hinder another project idea of mine, so I don't think I should announce it right now. Also, this place is very competitive. I'm not sure I could trust a team to stay together and follow my lead. I may not be the easiest person in the world to work with, but I tend to get stuff done and finish the projects I start.

This bothers me because I think the idea is a good one.

Maybe when the other project is finished I could share the idea with the community. It could be a fun Summer project.

I am working on my game concept programming wise its 60-70% ready ( thanks to john ) and believe me my concept it unique and it will be one of the most selling game in gamesalad history. And if you dont believe it wait and track no 1 app store position.

It's funny how the top selling games are always made by modest people who never thought they would ever become popular and the people that go around saying how awesome their ideas are end up making some lame game with no plot... I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I have been on various gfx forums for at least 10 years now and not a week goes by that someone doesn't suggest a "co-op" style project.
Making an animation is VERY VERY time consuming, even more so than making a game BUT, to get to the point, I have NEVER seen a group project see the light of day.
For some reason, internet collaborations don't work? Don't know why that is.

I would love to work on games with other local developers because then, a much more polished game or app would be the result but ... it's not in the cards.

It would be great if someone could find that golden formula where like minded people could find each other and pull on one string ... all the way :)

Speaking of Bubble Ball, the person who runs that other company that creates a product that begins with the letter C has some interesting blog entries. I stumbled across his personal blog and his latest blog caught my attention.
