I want to buy a Mac so I can start developing games for my iPad and iPhone but I do not want to spend loads on a iMac or something like that. So I was wondering if GameSalad would run on a 2005 Mac Mini because they are very cheap to buy.

I think 2005's are Power PC G4 :( hence cheap.

But now that GameSalad and Rocket Engine are cousins, maybe that web based action will make it over here. GameSalad should be web based.

So if the mac mini doesn't have intel inside it, it won't be able to run GameSalad.

I am developing my game on a Mac Mini 1.8Ghz (Intel) and it is good enough to work with. I added extra memory to bring it up to 2GHz. I have to restart the program a lot but I think that's the same for everyone.

So if I bought a mac mini and updated the OS to 10.6 but it didn't have intel inside it then I wouldn't be able to download GameSalad.

I'm using a beat up 13" white Macbook from 2006. First version with Intel. Works fine.
