I would personally love to publish to android as well as iOS. It's the only reason I stick with learning corona. I just bought a new samsung galaxy ace for testing android stuff, it's not too bad (if I had to use it).
I had a developer friend tell me that once you make your game with GS for the iPhone, you have all the images, sound, and gameplay ideas. If it's successful with sales and you want to convert it to a Droid game, then find a droid developer and have him/her do the coding for you. Depending on the type of game then it shouldn't take too long. Just make sure you work out how much money to pay the coder before you have him/her get started.
Good luck with sales! I can only pray that at some point I'm paying MANY people to make games!
there are more android OS devices then iOS devices which 200% plus market share even if there were half as many androids as iphones it increases the market share... http://gamesalad.com/careers/#job-jp look at the desired section haha gonna prob get it here soon
I'm pretty sure some people here have had stuff on the droid store (Joe?), but reported that sales were not all that amazing.
Even though there are more physical devices (is this really true?), there isa culture of getting stuff for free, rather then buying stuff with a lot of android users, from what I understand. This might change now that amazon are selling droid apps (in the US)

Ah, competitive intelligence... the job postings do reveal the intentions of GameSalad. Yet, I think that posting suggests Android is further down the line.
The only place Android is mentioned on the entire page is in the "Junior" programmer listing and under the "Desired" category... like it's a secondary requirement for a lower-level programmer.
Android is a moneymaker. I've had some success on that platform. I don't like Google, but I'm probably going to return to Android development in the future. Android is just too big to ignore.
With iOS you have only a few screensize targets. 1 Device can even play 2 of those sizes. With android you have alot more sizes to contend with. So if you make your iphone game for droid. you will have to make a size option for all or most of the android type phone that your customer base will have. Just seems like alot of work.
Joe has sold over 100,000 units of grisly manor on iPhone.
I don't know what his sales figures for android were, but last time I enquired it was about 100 units.
The truth is, it's a lot of hassle for very little return. I wouldn't personally lose any sleep over it if we *never* got android support. I'd much rather the team focussed on getting us more iOS features thanks.
Like it or not, Droid isn't going anywhere. So it seems rather silly to me that people would deny themselves potential sales and focus on making money on just one platform. To that end, GS would be foolish to deny themselves addtional sales by making software that is available only for one platform.
It's a commonly asked question but for the time being unless something changes Android is a big no no.
I could be wrong but they might have some deal going on with Apple. It would benefit all of us but there might be more to it that what meets the eye. Any articles i read about it say you only make money on android with advertising. So you'd have to have a lot of downloads to make anything with it.
Maybe the amazon app store might change that? Although they reserve the right to cut your prices whenever they want - for sales, price matching etc.
But if you're trying to build something long term (like a studio/game name) then the more people that have access to it, the better.

That's been my experience with Android. The users are cheap. They don't want to buy apps. I know — I was a cheap Android user. I used an Android phone for two years. I didn't buy a single Android app — only downloaded free apps.
Meanwhile, as a developer, my most successful app was Photics: Conquest - an online turn-based RPG. It had over 200,000 visitors in a month. With the exception of The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook, Android was actually more successful for me.
1. I developed my game on GameSalad to see how it would work. It's a great system. 2. Now I want to make an Android version. So many people have asked about an android version. I have all the graphics and logic so the coding should be easy. 3. I have chosen a system that will let me develop an Android version AND the bonus will be that it will also let me create a new iOS version 4. It's highly likely that I will then stay on that system because for any new games I don't want to do double work. Why would I use GS to make the iOs version when another system does both?
GS should make Android publishing the number one priority, before Game Center and before in-app purchases because not doing it may lead to permanent loss of developers like me (and I presume many more like me).
I have been thinking some more about my note above and think that because of the fast development time that it makes more sense to create more new games using GameSalad for now until one of them is a hit and then make Android versions. I hope that by that time Game salad will let you hit a button for an Android version.

and I hope not
While I agree with calvin9403 I just thought this could be a huge money maker.
iphone has a better system the android
They need Apps/Games.

I'm sad to see they have no in house Image editing like Mirror, Cropping image or something
But looking great!

I think it's good news that GameSalad will be supporting Android...

...but AdMob should be on that roadmap too.

Sweepr! Simple. Fun. Addictive.
You should do what's best for you, obviously!
Let us know how the android version of your game does. If it does huge numbers, it might further legitimise the call for Android for GS.
If not.... well, it'll join the other stories that suggest 'Android's not worth it'.
Like I said, let us know! Genuinely interested!
