Trying to save the best score is wrecking my head.

Hi guys I seriously hope you can help me with this problem because I've been trying to fix it for days. I thought I was taking all the right steps from the help forums and youtube tutorial videos but nothing is working. I'm trying to do just one simple thing save the best score.
All the steps I tried below I tested with my iPhone and GS viewer. All the results were the same.
So I started with a save attribute where the score rule is set up
and a load score actor in my high score page
So this worked. I had the back button as a reset game actor because when I went to the main menu and started a new game it loaded the game from when I finished not a new game. If I went back into high score the above score would still be there.
The problem then was when I played a new game and I got a lower score that would display as my new high score. (below)
So I tried two things then both didn't work.
Save where I had a rule for best score
and when that didn't work save rule for best score where I had my score rule.
and of course a load best score rule for both
but the problem as you can see below is it didn't save any score at all.
I really hope someone can help me with this as score is one of the most important part of the game and if I can't figure out what I am doing wrong then I won't be able to finish the game.

Now looking at it over again I can see that I didn't have the greater than sign in my best score greater than score rule but when I changed that it still won't save.
