Hi I'm using darren's grid movement template.
Everything is fine except i cannot make the walls to stop my actors from crossing the boundaries.
tried everything from making restituion to 0 & bounce when collided.
But now the problem is once hit the wall the actor can no longer move anywhere. no response from directional keys.

Sounds like bad code. Post what you have and change the title to something descriptive like it says in the Welcome sticky

    3. USE DESCRIPTIVE TOPICS. You do have a whole line (it even word wraps!) to put something eye-catching and descriptive, so please refrain from naming your topic something completely useless like "Question..." and "Help, please!!!" Also, if your topic is something that's directed toward someone, write them on their wall, or go to their email or website and contact them through there. But, if you want others to chime in also, leave out their name on the topic and place it in the body of the topic instead. With these practices, the board doesn't end up look like a crazy IM chat history, but a bunch of informative, useful topics, full of discussion, hints, tips, and input from everyone in the community.

It seems you should email him directly if you have an issue with his template.

Yes pop me a mail to toyboxuk[AT]hotmail.com

The character doesn't need walls to stop it (unless your using the pacman) as i have code to stop it going out of view.

Tell me what you have changed though:P

    Darren.

I made a demo for you already

somehow, the demo didn't run properly. if i hit the wall twice everything goes thru and actor goes missing...
not sure if there's a big bug in GS or something really wrong with the codes.

You need to see the pacman demo to see how you can move in a grid and detect upcoming walls.

Sent you a mail back m8...

    Darren.

:-) More than likely it's problems with Code, not so much a "BIG BUG" within GS...

    Good luck!
