Video competition to win £500

There is a competition being run by the video production company I work for www.shootyou.co.uk

(It was my idea, I guess it came of the back of the idea for the GameSalad TOTB2 competition )

I know this is not directly to do with GameSalad (but since I'm addicted to this forum I thought I'd share), you could use the winnings to pay for your GameSalad Pro licence, or an ipad or just have an evening like Charlie Sheen.

You actually have to download the GameSalad app 'Film Set' I made for my work (which now takes for ever to load) as it has a competition count in leader that you need to enter.

The video doesn't necessarily have to be very professional, it just needs to get the most views on YouTube.

Here's the promo vid which I made using the same After Effects project I created for my GS game Quake Builder promo video last year.

What do you think?

    Wow,
    you are quite the marketeer!

Now let's see .... if no one participates, and I make the only video which only my mom watches once, I could WIN!!!!
Hmmm, maybe aunt Martha could watch it too?

On a more serious note, I like your AfterFX work :)

yes, if you get your mom, and aunt Martha you could definitely be in the running...I'll ask my aunt Pet and Sheena to watch your video too.. :-)

It's amazing what a large family and an iPhone4 can do these days! LOL

If I could make a video of me, teaching my aunt how to use GS, THAT would attract a lot of views ... of course I'd have to move to some deserted island for a few years ...

I love this idea! But you can buy YouTube views :p

@Riffel yes its world wide, so I guess £500 in India would go a long way. (though if anyone wanted to do the internship, they have to pay their own travel costs)

@Xpandemic, how much do views cost?, and if someone actually made a good, funny video which got quite a lot of views, could you compete cheaply by buying views?

Not sure how to get the word out there for the competition... my boss is on the case, I hope...

This is a good idea for a comp, but does youtube still suffer the glitch with the views?, Firefox has some addons that auto refreshes the page after a period of time, this was used to increase your views by my boss at my previous company he even had one computer dedicated to it.

Well lets hope they've fixed that...

    WOW,
I did not know that someone would come up with such a service (but it doesn't surprise me ether) and don't understand the logic behind it?

If one produces a video and then buys the views, what good does it do? Yeah I know, it gets a lot of vies so it must be good and therefore many many will watch ....

The other day, during an event brake, someone made a joke and suggested that a bunch of us (~30 ppl) would line up pretending it's the line for the bathroom ...
This "buy views issue" has about the same ring to it :(

Ok, well ignoring the obvious loop hole in the project...

Here's my own entry into the competition.. Took around 15 minutes to put together using a clip my wife filmed on my phone the other day.

Not hilariously funny, but good enough. That's me, the one running like a girl and hiding behind a chair....
