Simple question :)

Would it be possible to have a free app that costs 0.99 (or anything) to update?

No, it is not part of Apple's update model. The update would have to be an in-app purchase which currently GameSalad does not support this feature.

you can have 2 seperate apps one free one 99$ as a upgrade. but your just purchasing the .99$ app. If you have pro version you can link to the .99$ version in your free app. It will open up app store on your device and purchase from there. You will then have a free and full version on your device.

You need GS pro to have any links out of your app- including to the app store, right?

Im not pro member so i can't have links.

So i was thinking of making version 2.0 and charging 0.99 for updating. That way everyone that have 1.0 will see the 2.0 version.

You sure that you cant charge for an update?
Then Why Apple Says on iTunes: Download al FREE updates?

Yeah Charging for updates is very shady to say the least. If its a big enough change that you feel you need to charge for it you need to submit a Sequel App.
