Save High Score

Is there a way to save the highest score a player has achieved, or will that be available once a save feature is added?

If not, without the save feature, how would you implement saving the player's last highest score, before they decide to exit the game, which will then wipe the memory

Also, I would like to be able to create levels which are unlockable, but again, without a save feature, once the player exits, the game, those unlocked levels will be locked once the player tries to re-enter the game, correct?

What are GS users doing now, with their game to get around this?

Or are you creating your game in the hope that a save feature will be added

Saving is such a critical, and much needed feature in GS

Saving will be implemented. I asked the very same question myself. Their main goal is to release the 'full-version' so you can start selling your app.

As far as how to get around this is by creating simple games that do not need saving. Little 5 minute pick-me-ups that are fun, but not too involved. That is my suggestion.

Once saving is implemented I think it will be very easy to be able to save high scores, so I'm not too concerned about that at this time.

I'm personally hoping that saving high scores is in at launch.

GameMaker has this as a standard feature and has done for years, and I think that in small 5 minute pick up and play games high score tables bring people back to your game to play it again and again.

Personally I'm hoping for a high score and reset game feature before launch.

Yes, at least a high score save would be nice, because the type of game I'm creating requires one if a player is motivated to come back and play.

And it is a very easy, pick up and play game, but almost requires the high score save feature to motivate players to come back

I think even for easy pick up and play games, these features are a must

Well I have to agree with the ones here because players like to challenge each others to see if they can get a higher score in games...and THAT is most valuable thing in a arcade style game....BUT for a starter it won´t affect the funny of playing the game so better have patience and wait for a 1.0 version of the beta tool!

    Out of topic :

Plus the fact that you can colorize the same prototype object is amazing me A LOT !!
I could easily make my first animated background goes to 200 Kbytes from 1.1 MB just breaking down all the elements from the whole tile and it´s size is 1440 x 320
    THIS IS AMAZING FOLKS!!
  • Being the super noob that I am...I'm going to ask a super noob question.

Did we ever get the ability to have save games?
