I'm sure all of would like to know, how the heck do you get into the top #4 on the app store? What are your marketing secrets. What websites do you email, social marketing? What?!?

pretty sure - Good Art - Good gameplay - Hard work - Many review sites - Free app a day - luck
overall its the game. No matter what the advertising, if your game looks like crap, it wont sell.
Yeah its just a great game, that looks fun. I would also guess he got a fair few good reviews plus some great publicity from free app a day that transferred into mac app sales.
like TSB says - A GREAT looking game - A Great Looking icon - Lots of Luck - A 1.99 value when most games ate 5.00 or More - A lack of titles in the mac app store
that is about it!
if you are a big company than you don't need to worry
Free app a day Had NOTHING to do with the success on the mac app store. The success on the mac app store was this
- A GREAT looking game - A Great Looking icon - Lots of Luck - A 1.99 value when most games ate 5.00 or More - A lack of titles in the mac app store
I did not advertise other then a few forum posts. i DID NOT get any reviews from web sites.
All i can say is work hard PAY for art if you cant do art yourself and hope for the best. You cant jst spend a weekend and hope to get a top 10 game. You need to work at it. Remember this is our 14 title and only the first time we have made it to the top 10.
I was talking about just zombie drop in general lol. But yah. Just an overall great game. and once it gets noticed, everyone sees it, likes it, buys it, loves it. haha.
Beyond the obvious skill, tshirtbooth has always had a work ethic to really learn the tools of gs, and completely understand them. That's why he is able to help so many of us when we need it. He is also a businessman, and that entails a skill set and understanding that goes beyond just a love of creating games.
tshirtbooth has worked hard for his achievements, and he well deserves it. I would put luck way down the list of success factors.

IMO some previous games from TSB are just as good, better in some ways, than Zombie Drop. Most of the time great/good games go unrecognized.
Thanks.
