A visual novel template?

Hello! I wonder if anyone would know if there already is or would be willing to put together a kind of template that is very popular here in Japan (not to be used for porn lol ) for visual novels? It seems like the engine would be fantastic for it and work well. I have seen many visual novels on the Japanese app store and could really get behind a template for one, if not for my own use but for inspiring my students to write stories for class with them.
The best examples I know of for this would the ren'py engine or the novelty engine I found on google. Still those engines don't work for iPad or iPhone.
Any takers?
