how to lay out a grid of actors?

I'm making something that shows a grid of buttons, 8 rows, 12 columns. It's fairly tedious to hand place 96 actors in a precise position. Even option-dragging one to become the next one is as likely as not going to do a resize or rotation of the one you clicked on. Copy and paste doesn't work, and nudging is only one pixel at a time. Multiple select doesn't work either, so I can't clone a column at a time.

Any tips for making a precise grid of actors?

Personally I manually adjust the x/y. Put ur actor in the scene and then double click. Change the x/y the be precise. I am a perfectionist so this is what I do. If you need multiple scenes like this don't forget you can make a duplicate scene just like a duplicate actor. So you can have many scenes like this.
