Opinion Vs Opinion? Hogwash!!
I posted this as a response in another topic. But I thought Id Single it out. This in regards to how we voice our opinions on here. And I think it effects people who are new here and trying to reach out.
ok 1 sec... this is my point of all this ..... "thats stupid , who needs this?,,,,, "I see no reason for that". 1 minute your saying "WE NEED Game Center." "We are losing money every minute we dont have Game Center" Game Center this Game center that. GOD I WISH WE COULD GET A ROAD MAP. Where my ROAD MAP. But when someone else says WE NEED IAP you say its perfect.. leave it alone or go learn xcode.
I think we should all play Devils Advocate to our opinions. Then maybe we would see both sides of the fence before we counter point a question or a suggestion or a desire for GS list of things to do.
The GS engine is Awesome.. when compared to other ways to make games and apps. Its very very nice. But.... the phrase " If it aint broke.. dont fix it" Does not apply here.

GameSalad is bitchin' (in the good way) and people who bitch (in the bad way) about it and it's lack of features are mostly people who don't use GS to 10% of it's current capability and if they spent more time learning the software instead of coming online and whining, would make amazing games... The Atari didn't have online leaderboards, the SNES didn't have online leader boards/In-app purchases. Hell, most of the best games of all time didn't but they are still the best games of all time.
GS in the right hands is a hugely powerful SDK that does exactly what the developer tells it to do.

Your defeating your own purpose for the response. If you type more than " Your not the first to suggest this.... and I dont mean you John.
Just erked me when the same people saying "GS is fine how it is." Are the same people who in previous posts cried for Road Maps and Game Center.
That is my opinion, and I'm sure many disagree with it. But that's life

Now please do not take this as directed at you cause it certainly is not.
I love game salad and want nothing more than for it to be able to do anything that can be done with Xcode. But I challenge you to show me one thing that has been asked for in the last month that we haven't bee behind for for over 6 months.
And on the roadmap. The cries for it have enhanced immensely since it has been promised almost weekly for the last 1-2 months. You see those crystal because unlike some of the other stuff being asked for this was promised and the rest has not been.
@everyone I'm real sorry if there are typos or grammar errors in this I am on my iPhone at the park and do not Feel like going back through to proof read on my phone.

Facts are this:
1. We love what GS has offered so far.
2. Great games can be made with what we have so far
3. Can ideas improve GS to be even better? Yes.
4. Are some ideas more realistic than others? Yes.
If there were 15 ideas floating around the forums right now. People would think 4 of them are greatly needed and the rest are "ok" or not needed.
But if GS released a new update tommorrow with all 15 new features. No one would complain.

fighting arguin crying online isnt gonna make games.
Expressing the need for iAP or GameCenter is not just about the developer like QS said, it's about providing an experience for the consumer, and having more features adds to the value of the app that you're selling.
I don't think other people should get bashed because their opinion differs than someone else's, but it's interesting what people type when they're sitting behind a computer, versus talking face to face. (We're all guilty of it)
But then again, it isn't much different than the real world, where people at work won't tell people how they feel to their face, yet don't take issue to whinging behind people's backs.
6 of 1, half dozen of another I'd say...

sous-chefs dont get paid why should they be here any more than the rest of us. and honestly most do Mod the forum. They also get inside info and get to test new versions of GameSalad before they come out. I do so believe that is why most like/keep the title.
I can't wait for GameCenter, I think it will really add another layer of depth to my games, but will it make the game any better? Of course not. It will only encourage people to play it more often. The game has to be good enough that people want to keep coming back.
In App Purchase is another thing people are clamoring for, but trust me, none of your potential customers want it. They want to buy a game and play it. They don't want to be prompted to buy more levels or upgrades. It takes away from the gameplay aspect. It's not going to make you millions. It's probably not going to make you hundreds. You need a good game first. You need something to draw people in. People are not going to buy anything in app if your game sucks, and lets be honest, a majority of games coming out of GS seem to be cash grabs. People are spending $50 on a template, or an afternoon making a crappy game hoping to pull in $100-200 and be done with it.
GameSalad has two incredible things going for it. It's extremely easy drag and drop interface, which as far as I've experienced, nothing comes close to in ease of use and/or mental investment to get going. And it's free for anyone to try. While I don't think this is the best idea looking at some of the quality out there, there are some people using the free versions making incredible games, we just have not seen them yet. If they are anything like me, they are waiting until their game is perfect before showing all of us. And who knows, if GS was not free, that game never might have been created.
