This is mainly for those new here.

Im new to GS. Im in between 2 Ipad apps. A ABCs Learner style app and a Shooter style app. I just wanted you to know the power of lil things like

( and ) and , and .

You will like me get very frustrated and want to hit the forums and try to find some one to help you figure out why following a tutorial video word for word wont work on your project. Im telling you now. Pay attention to the littlest of details before you get flustered to the point of punching your monitor. I researched and begged in the forums for 2 hours on finding another way to make something work. When in fact my first attempt was going to work fine. But I of course wasnt paying attention to a comma here or a ")" there. One lil ")" out of place or not in place will cause you hours of heartache.

So when all else fails... Look at the lil details.

its always the little things. :)

Also another big time killer in trouble shooting. especially when copying or modifying a template or free demo is "otherwise" Otherwise by default is minimized. so if you have copied anything from another project or are modifying something you didn't make completely from scratch and are not getting the results you want go through every actor and every rule and open the otherwise section. you will likely find something mucking your world up hiding in there.

I'm also new to Gamesalad. One thing I found that's worth nothing is that, compared to other engines, or to coding languages, that you should err on the side of LOTS of parentheses. In my recent experiences (my game uses lots of trig) there isn't an evident order of operations in GS, other than "use lots of these: (((())))).
Not sure if that's what you're talking about, but it helps to know.

GameSalad order of operations I believe is the same as normal math. but the (((()))) can be used to reorder it all.
