On touch animation Query.
One of the reviews of GS games was from so a$$holes. But they mentioned with every game they pulled up that GS Games button show no animation showing that they are being touched. Im setting here thinking... thats easy to do isnt it? On press change image on release change image and navigate. both images being a button and a button looking pressed then back.
Thats not hard is it. Heck even on press play lil ding.wav?
But I dont see it often here.

I'm not sure if it's true that so many are not showing visual feedback from button pushes but it is quite easy to do and is kind of important from an interface point of view.
Yup an image can be changed as you rightly say, a more complex animation could even be done. I've used simple interpolates on some of mine (a spin and size change, along with a nice sound effect is more than enough). You can also use particles to show a button has heard your call.
The real issue is that the user needs the satisfaction and gratification of knowing that their action is creating a response.
It's up to us to make it satisfying, clear and instant. So if the reviewer is not seeing an action after a button is pressed then I can certainly see why they may comment.
Good to bring it to attention here though.
