Bug in High Score Save?

I have a game that's a basic shootemup, and at random intervals, the high score display will all of a sudden disappear... it happened one time at 17,000 points, and another at 12K
Has anyone else noticed this? IS this a possible bug, I have checked and rechecked all my attributes and they're all in order as far as I can tell....
