Im trying to figure out if i should sell my ipad- and get either an ipad 2 or some type of mac laptop (probably air). I currently have an imac and i would rather something portable.

Also im going to be selling my ipad to my dad so testing on it (with GS) wont be a problem

NEVER sell an imac unless you are getting a mac pro. Imacs are perfect. Nice screen, lots of power, just not mobile.

    just my opinion

I have iPad 2 and MacBook Air. Get the Air! It's great and you can edit games on the go, I have an iMac and the main problem was that I wanted to edit away from home too, get the Air, you wint be disappointed.

Plus, my iPad 2 is great and all that but all it has extra is a speed increase and a terrible camera basically, I still use my iPad 1 for testing mainly because then I know that it will work even better on iPad 2.

Macbook > then iPad 2 > then Macbook Air > then iPod Touch....I use the iPad for meetings all the time, and clients love it!

The iPad does seem to be a friend to the business meetings, but the Macbook Air is more functional. I'm considering a Mac laptop, so I'm not tethered to the desk when I want to work on GameSalad projects.

I'm waiting though. Maybe Project Masala is HTML 5 and I could simply get an iPad 2. Also, with VNC, I could access my Mac remotely... so maybe an iPad 2 would work.

I think there is more benefit in having a portable Mac than having a slightly better iPad. You can dev anywhere.

Even with the power of HTML 5, A GameSalad dev environment seems like a stretch, and I think you would probably lose your mind trying to dev through an iPad VNC. They're pretty awesome for remote access of simple stuff, but GameSalad can be some heavy lifting.

Sell the iMac, build a Hacintosh that is five times as powerful, and buy three Ferraris with the leftover cash :P

    Keep your iPad.

If it runs on the Gen1 iPad it'll run on all iPads. For GS iPad 2 is handicapped.

Thanks guys for the responses! Looks like I'm going to have to keep making templates and advertising if I'm ever going to get enough money with out selling my ipad ;)

Might as well put this here-
