Slider to move around a picture (that has actors on it)

How do you make a slider that controls a picture (moves it to the left and right - you can only see a part of the big picture) which has actors on it to direct the player to different scenes?
It's a similar concept to cover flow however less complicated.
Please could you give a step by step tutorial (by writing or video) on how to achieve this.

I wouldn't expect to get a video made just for you.

Take a look at the FMG volume slider demo and just modify it so the value the slider produces controls the camera origin of your scene.
