What's your experience with lite versions?

After I release my update fixing and optimizing things....I was considering releasing a Lite version of Tap Them with a score cap of 500 or something.

Have you guys had success with sales after promoting via lite versions? I would highly consider just releasing an add supported version, but being a young married college student I dont have 500 to throw down on a pro subscription.

Anyways, would love to hear similar experiences/lessons learned with lite versions?

hey, personally, i think LITE versions helps significantly ... i released a LITE version for my game any have had alot of downloads for it in the past 2 weeks (when it was released) ... which i can say have increased sales for the paid version as it gives people a chance to try it before deciding to buy the game proper. People are more likely to download the game if they have tried it .. hope this helps!

Lite versions are a double edged sword really. If your Game is really good. it will only help. But…. If your game is only good in your eyes and your friends/families eyes it will definitely hurt it. It's really a good litmus test to quality of your game. Now there is always a chance your lite version was just as unlucky as the paid and got buried before it was ever noticed. But in most cases it will make it or break it. Thats just my experience of course. My lite version solidified my thoughts after the paid release that my next game needed more work.

Wait until your sales drop off from your original release and then release your lite version.

You have to be careful with lite versions as there are some resttictions on what you can and can't do.

The ideal solution is IN-APP PURCHASES so that we can have a single version that has pay-to-unlock levels
