Suggestion to increase framerate

To GS devs, I just want to suggest to try to increase the frame rate for certain games. I have an ipod 1g, and i use that to test. If i optimize for that and get decent frame rates, then everything else would play better. i optimized all i can, but i want to try to increase more, but i can't. any tips?

I usually don't complain about much, but this would move worlds for me and make most of our games trying to push the GS limits to the max more appealing.

Are you testing using just the GS viewer?

Or have you made a test build?

I've found that the GS viewer creates an overhead that means your games might actually run better when built as a stand-alone game.

    Hope that helps,

i tried both, and i like the framerate now, but i just wish it can be smoother on an ipod 1g.

How many FPS overhead would you guess the viewer creates?

For shmups, around 17-35 FPS. Not so bad, but thats pushing it.

Wait so GS viewer slows it down by 17-35 fps? O_O

No, i get that while using the shmup game, which is an intense game with constant spawning and particles, not all games do that. plus, the viewer runs on an ooold ipod touch, so its good on newer ipods and iphones.
